    Investment

    Seen this on on facebook:

Newcastle United were strongly represented at the recent third edition of the PIF private sector forum as chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan invited attendees to 'take advantage of partnership opportunities'

Jonathan Kane, Newcastle's director of partnerships, was among those present in Riyadh last week. The Magpies had a dedicated booth at the two-day event at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre.

Hopefully lots of lucrative sponsorship deals are being linked up!!!!!!
    ------------------

Some great news and with the City case I can imagine us being ready to jump on this and get some deals in.

"The private sector is a pivotal partner in this successful journey and is part of the national economic transformation. I encourage you to continue developing capabilities and enhancing competitiveness to keep pace with the economic growth in Saudi Arabia and the future projects, and I invite you to take advantage of the partnership opportunities available with the PIF and portfolio companies."

    Exact quote.

He's not spoken directly about investment in NUFC but in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, it also alludes to using NUFC as a partner within the group with global reach and recognition. As we continue to challenge for honours at the top of the league and compete in Europe that profile will grow and grow.

    Really hope so, Jammy.

There's 'keeping your powder dry' and not having any powder.

    Or something like that, anyway,

Been reading that APT rulkes forced SELA to lower the amount they sponsored us by and there's a similar suggestion surrounding Noon.

Surely we can get that money back plus compensation now?

The owners must be cooking something up in the background, no?

From what I've seen, we can sue for lost revenues in that period - it won't be just us either.

The costs coming from the central Prem prize money pot to pay the legal fees and then also the potential loss of earnings settlements when this all comes to a head is going mean that the cartel and the rest of the league clubs are going to see a big reduction in their prize money.

Say for example City's deal with Ethihad and First Abu Dhabi bank was for ?250m and it was blocked 2 yrs ago. They can sue for ?500m

Sela's deal with what ?25m for the front of shirt. I've heard figures ranging from ?40-55m so we could be looking at a compo claim of ?30m.

Forest... No idea whether or not they have had a deal knocked back or not.

However, anyone who is still anti-City has to realise that at the time City were Treble winners and Reining Champions, their potential new deal was rejected but Arsenal, Serial loses & also ran's signed a deal at a higher value.

If that isn't blatant corruption and evidence that City are not the enemy but our closest ally I don't know what more evidence you need.

Speaking on the Loaded Mag NUFC channel, Maguire said: ?Manchester City are feeling absolutely vindicated, and I think Newcastle United have played an absolute blinder.

?They have just sat by the sidelines.

?So if City lost, they would incur all the legal costs. If City win, Newcastle United are now in position to say ?well, we?ve had to negotiate deals and have lost opportunities from potential commercial partners?.

?Now, we need to have a conversation internally and could need a conversation with the Premier League to say we?ve lost players but if we?d been able to sign deals with associated parties??

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWOVXTHuSG4

Our owners have done the very Arabic thing of working in the background, soft power, keeping their business very quiet but precise and effective.

Now we have are in the position to exert pressure as we require. APT2 the updated rules, as I said are just 'blue penned' alterations of APT1 so they will also be Unlawful, Void and unenforceable.

That verdict will come out in a few months, before the summer. Deals will be struck for the long term and all PSR or what ever the latest 3 letter jibberish they're calling it in the next season or two will be an irrelevance to us.

Silverware is on the way boys!!!

Cheers Zip. 90% of my reports are basically ripped straight from 'The Price of Football' Podcast. Kieran Maguire is generally on the money.

I dip in the Sport law Podcast with Nick DeMarco too.

I'm always talking with contacts out here in the GCC, Saudi and UAE. Who, aren't directly connected to the decision makers but are rub shoulders with that level of people. So, putting 2 and 2 together I end up with 6

On a completely separate topic, Salah to Al Nasr is a done deal. 100% he's in Saudi next season.

Aye, I know we are approaching the crest of the hill of struggle but that pot of gold containing the financial deals to give us the freedom to spend always seems elusive and out of reach.

Its like that frustrating challenge you see on TV where you have to remove the bar of gold from the glass case through the hole with one hand.
