    Annoying new football terminology.

XG. Means absolutely nothing. We had an XG of 2 yesterday and liverpools was 4.

Low Block. Micah Richards says it all the time.

    Second phase. Eh?

Transitions. As far as I can make out it Just means a team has lost the ball and the other one has it?

Inverted full back. I heard a commentator say this about Lewis Skelly yesterday but inverted means upside down if it is because he is playing in the middle then inverted is the wrong adjective.

Recycle the ball. Just means winning it back.

X player has 15 goal involvements. What?s a goal involvement?

Can anyone clear these up or suggest other terms for the bin?

Send Micah Richards to school to learn English, or get a translator in.

And to add to that, when did 'closing down' become 'press' and 'having a man over' become 'overload'.

Buddy it's just jargon bolox that's been created because they have to find new adjectives/angles to sound clever, it's all spoken to them though an earpiece anyway it's not their own thinking going off.

The staccato women commentators are particularly fond of advancing this nonsense.

Rather than 'advancing this nonsense' it is more likely that they are much younger than the average 'bloke' commentator and so have actually been brought up on this terminology that has been used during their time being coached in the 21st century.
