    On this day 2001

United v Rangers in the cup QF

Forgot how good a night this was until I watched it back recently
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X1vWt16H4po

Tannadice was loud that night (much more spontaneous than now despite the singing section doing a mostly good job), should have won 3-4 nil, they didn't have a shot on goal, two point black saves from Klos late on

The job Alex Smith done to turn us around that season resulting in survival and a semi final (ran into all conquering Celtic) is underrated, 3rd best record post new year in the league to survive in epic style in Perth, he just couldn't carry it on into top 6 progression

Before that night we'd only beaten them once in the big cup, the 94 final, it's now 6 times

Anyone else in attendance? Sunday evening game I think

Yes, I was there - got tickets for my birthday from my girlfriend's parents. I think you're right, Sunday evening game. Epic game it was too. I'm sure I can remember a fair few Hvn scarves being launched when the goal went in. I think someone on here said at the time that it was turning into the best worst season ever, or words to that effect.

I also remember driving past the West Port Bar on the way to the game and there were two Hvn busses parked outside and police trying the herd the mutants onto the busses. I didn't realise my sister was working in the bar that night. She worked in a number of City Centre bars over a number of years, but never again after that night.

I haven?t watched the YouTube video in the link?..

Was this Hannah header 1-0 game? Think the big Dutch guy for them got sent off.

I travelled down from Inverness on the Sunday afternoon and didn?t get back til about 1 in the morning. Tannadice was bouncing that night.

It was Hannah that scored, but it was smashed in, left foot on the volley. Around 1:09:45 on the YouTube video.

I had to look it up but yes, Bert Konterman was sent off.

It?s amazing how your mind plays tricks on you?.i was at another Sunday night game when Hannah scored a peach of a header at the east stand end. Some finish that volley!

I was at both down from Inverness. Both brilliant trips back up the road.

How Lilley didn't score one of the two at the end I'll never know

There was and hopefully will be some great nights

However i would love to see some reflection....
Lets transfer the game back to black and white (that is all thats needed for tv) and allow that match to be reffed using VAR

in an adjacent room leave the colours in place and let a different panel VAR the game simultaneously and see the difference in result.
