    Match Ratings vs Grimsby

Well not many of us saw that coming... very good performance and we got the legend Ditzy back...here goes

Bass N/A... looked a nasty injury, let's all hope he is back quickly
Slocombe.. 7.5.. I'll throw Sam in now as he was on so early, caught everything, decent distribution and great save at the end
Bedeau... 7.5..On the end of almost everything tonight, defended so well
Platt.... 8... I think he won every ball played into our box tonight, brilliant signing and should be captain
Macari...7... Quietly went about his business...played very well
Palmer...6... One of our weaker performers tonight, dead balls are terrible and gave the ball away so often
Tsaroulla... 7...Not a fan of his but did his job tonight, wished he would cross it more... has a terrible shot on him but kept going
Gordon....7... So busy tonight, got some lovely balls in... defended well, worst throw ins I have ever seen though
Grant.... 7... nothing that stood out but got through so much dirty work in that first half
Abbott...8... Just a wonderful young player, block in the first half was amazing... engine on him is frightening, blessed to have him
Whitaker...6... Should of found Jatta first half, did put himself about... I expect more from him but did put in a decent shift
Jatta....8.5... MOTM ..Absolutely outstanding... the amount of work he got through tonight was staggering!!! Be it defending or attacking he was everywhere, got his goal and could of had a few more...brilliant from the big lad

    Subs
Ditzy... 8... just wow... first touch on the money, simply amazing goal... just changed the game and the mood when he came on... he is one of our own 😀
Javis and Edwards... both not on long enough to grade
Maynard.... delighted for him... he really needed that

    Nice ratings
I'd have Platt shading MoM among many 8/10s

I?d give it Platt? first half we had to battle and he was central to Notts getting in at HT with a clean sheet.

SM must take credit as Notts were easily the better side 2nd half.

We keep saying it, but Palmer has got to come off set pieces now. Tidy all round player usually, even if tonight was an off night, but his dead ball skills just aren't good enough.

My only criticism with your ratings is that you still refer to Didzy as 'Ditzy'.

Ditzy is a stupid American word that means "acting really dumb and innocent. Not really knowing what is going on", which is the polar opposite of Mr McGoldrick.

Apart from that, I'm absolutely buzzing with this win!

I’m not as generous as Irish Pie but thought we coped with a dodgy pitch well. That workmanlike approach to the surface probably causes my skinnier marks. Because of his immediate impact from the bench and a sublime goal McGoldrick gets MoM for me
Bass 6 Faultless while he was on. Hope the injury isn’t as serious as it looked.
Slocombe 7 Several good saves and did the bread and butter stuff capably
Macari 6 Hardly noticed he was playing but threat from his flank was effectively dealt with
Bedeau 7 Back to his industrious best
Platt 8 Every header and challenge a winner
Gordon 6 Flattered to deceive in the first 10 minutes with some decent crosses but went into check-back mode
Tsaroulla 6 Ditto Gordon. Extra shooting practice required
Palmer 6 Adequate contribution but still not working like clockwork
Abbot 7 Quieter than usual but some important blocks and tackles and a great lay-off to Jatta in the closing stages
Grant 6 No flair, but a tidy performance
Whittaker 5 Nothing worked for him despite his energy
Jatta 7 Worked very hard. Hit the woodwork again but rebound favoured him this time

McGoldrick 8 Should be spelt Magicoldrick. Transformed our approach.
Edwards, Jarvis not on long enough to judge
