Man Utd's interest on their debt could maybe buy our club

Looking through who owes what in the world of foooball, United's current total debt, including ?300m in outstanding transfer fees, is in excess of 1bn pounds. In the last financial year they paid 37m pounds in interest on the debt.

These figures are absolutely mind blowing, no wonder Ratcliffe is trying to get the wage bill reduced.

Would 37m pounds be enough for Tony to sell up?

Does anyone on here think the whole total of the club, stadium/RUFC combined, is actually worth 37m pounds?

The entire Rotherham package - ground, training ground, staff and players must be in the region of ?37m.

When you think of the annual payments from the EFL/Premier Leagues, the potential gate receipts and advertising income, it wouldn't be such a bad investment for someone with deep pockets. But the buyer would have to be a savvy football/business person and realise the value of developing talent and selling it on at a profit, making the most of the commercial aspects of the club and hollowing out all the expensive deadwood.

Wrexham went for ?2m in 2021 and is now worth in excess of ?400m!

We don't own the training ground Glenn, we rent it so that wouldn't be included in any package.
I also wonder if TS would want to retain ownership of the ground so that just leaves the players.
Should get a reasonable amount of change from a tenner then 😉

That value is possibly down to who bought them and the marketing spin they've achieved here in the US through the Netflix series. A reported 20,000+ annual shirt sales to people in a country 5,000 miles away who had never heard of Wrexham 5 years ago points to the success of that.

I'm not sure if 37M is a reasonable value for the land but at the moment (and considering the debt being carried both in terms of monetary and player contracts) the rest of RUFC is probably worth less than the 2M that was paid for Wrexham.

Update on the Man Utd debacle on how Ratcliffe sees it, as he name checks players, their salaries and under performances that's affecting the team and most importantly, the bottom line. Just say it Sir Jim just say it.

Dan Roan pulled absolutely no punches with that interview, is he free to sit down with Tony?
