    Sliding Doors

We were in for both Slot and Iraola who both play high tempo football.

Also we were linked with Gvardiol, White, Cunha, Watkins, and Paquetta amongst others.

Couple that with players we couldn?t hang onto Cook, Ritter, Gray, Wood, Bowen etc.

Just goes to show a different aspect of if, buts and maybes.

Actually over for the game staying in sunny spring time Ilkley in Wharfedale with relatives..... been doing some road hill cycling in the great terrain around here with my youngest daughter today.....

As for ifs buts and maybes...any businesses can use probability statistics and financial modeling to assess the likelihood of different outcomes and estimate their potential impact can they not ?
But if the market changes then businesses need to adjust their strategy and that will represent the potential contingencies and uncertainties that footballing businesses face and for us at this moment in time..... it is the the right time to invest in depth of our squad quality cash wise.....

I admit to being a positive person as i am paid to unlock creative solutions and innovative.... provide ideas helping businesses stay ahead of the curve as a freelancer and if no result then no pay day....

The fundamental methodology of valuing a football club is no different from any other business as valuation is a forward looking exercise.... and how much revenue/profit the business will make in the future and understanding the wide range of potential outcomes including the best case and the downside risks which is exactly what the 49ers have done and have done for many years.

Now at Leeds its about thinking through the potential upside beyond what the club is already doing with further opportunities to improve the operations of the club by building new commercial partnerships and creating an environment to maximise the chances of on the pitch PL success and hopefully generate new value within the club and for the club.

Last week i was looking at some names allegedly Leeds tracking in English press..... so had asked my son and his team mates to name the best three experienced players in Europe to slot in at a resurging Leeds for next season.... who would make an immediate impact in English PL to the best of their knowledge.... no holds barred.....

Goals need to be scored and Tammy Abraham now 27 currently on loan at AC Milan from AS Roma having spent the last 4 years in Italy has Leeds among the clubs that are interested in him.... and is available for a reasonable fee & wages.... AC Milan are working on a deal with Roma to keep him La Gazzetta dello Sport the Italian daily football presser is reporting.... Abraham played at Chelsea in the PL.... so maybe a punt as long as his fitness checks are A1 as technically very good and will fit Leeds 2025/26 salary structure...... on 5,770,000 euros for the 2024-2025 season..... so 95,000 sterling gross per week, excluding any bonuses...... is that the going rate i asked..... no its cheap came back the answer.

Yes, big investments decisions for sure......

As for centre-backs .... all agreed that German Jonathan Tah,29, of the Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen with leading German sports magazine Kicker and Bild the widely read newspaper in Germany confirming Leeds interest ahead of Spurs but most big guns also know his strengths... and he is a free agent.... so maybe Spain will eventually get his solid brick house 6'5 frame and technical skills.... but why cannot we ?
On the same salary as Abraham at 95,000 sterling weekly.....

....Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, 29, the Serbian goalkeeper for Serie A club Torino and Serbian international got the vote if we are changing keepers.... currently paid 1,300,000 euros for the 2024-2025 season so 25,000 sterling a week.

Incidently Caoimhin Odhran Kelleher, 26, the Irish keeper at Liverpool .... it was mentioned that he was on 606,000 euros salary at Pool.... within Leeds budget as thats currently 10,000 sterling a week.... maybe Stomper knows more about him than me ?

We can only dream of course.... but our net is extensive and their are good players available to us but not cheap but at the going rates are damn good investments in key positions at the right age.

As they say.... Spring adds new life and new joy to all that is..... and plenty of folks walking tall in Leeds shirts to prove it here in Ilkley this weekend anticipating our new dawn.

True Mes O but was just struck by it catching bits of both the live games over here.

Think we have a real opportunity to give it a crack and Forest have shown what can be done.

Hope we sweep up four of 5 of the best in the EFL grab a few from the PL and sprinkle a couple of potential super star signings.

Semenyo from Bournemouth shows you can unearth talent from the EFL.

Sure Alf would be happy to donate their CB pairing to the squad.

Enjoy the game Mrs O and that warm Yorkshire sun!
