    He Wears a Magic Hat

Could Woody be on his way back to NYS?

Interviewed on tonight's Football Heaven he was asked whether he wanted to continue playing next year, or if he had other intentions. Woody was noncommittal, saying something to the effect that he was considering his options.

    Intriguing.

I would be surprised if Donny offer him another playing contract because he spent quite a lot of last season in the treatment room.
Assuming he has got the necessary qualifications I would welcome him back at NYS as either assistant manager or first team coach.
    He certainly "gets" the club.

Matt Hamshaw He has dropped a broad hint that some of the candidates he is considering for roles on his staff have previous connections with the Millers.

Announced his retirement today there’s a piece on the OS now brings a tear to my eye reading it totally deserves everything that’s come his way an old school pro who some of our current rabble could learn a lot from
Hopefully see you at NYS soon Woody best of luck whatever you do in the future

I'm always a bit wary of bringing in an ex-player as a coach when he has no coaching experience.
However Hammy is obviously in a great position to assess Woody's likely potential - without sentimentality coming into it.
So - if Hammy thinks he'll be a good fit that's more than good enough.
I hope that he does and that this happens very quickly.

Hopefully appointed quickly.Am I correct in thinking he can do the coaching badges whilst operating as an assistant manager. I think Paul Warne did a similar exercise.

I can?t see Hammy bringing in anybody that?s more qualified than himself, more forceful than himself or more ambitious than himself

I think that Hammy has the level 5 (UEFA Pro) qualification. Which is , I believe, the highest qualification you can get.
