Thread: Goodwin out

    Goodwin out

I haven't liked Goodwin since he decided to let Charlie Mulgrew go to a Celtic fan's event in Glasgow 2 nights before a huge game the year we got relegated (the event went on to the early hours).
Every time you lose he talks about learning lessons but not a learns his.

We've put up with defensive displays from Goodwin's teams all season playing an un-Dundee United style of play as we seemed to be getting results and it showed we had a resilient team. But now's the time for Goodwin to leave.

Since he decided to tell Declan Gallagher with five games to go that he wasn't getting a contract there has been a significant drop off a cliff in the play of the team. Defensively we are atrocious. Declan Gallagher plays like he's on the beach and you can see that total lack of enthusiasm throughout the team. Sure we have injuries but so does everyone else. 10 goals conceded, 1 goal scored tells its own story in the last 3 games.

His January signings have been a total disaster and have brought nothing to the team and certain players are just not good enough. Sad to say that includes Trapa who gets nudged off the ball too easy. I thought he was going to be brilliant.

I don't want to be writing this as I want to be writing about how United pulled the game back today and got a draw. About how United have shown their critics they were wrong. But in all honesty St Mirren could have won by four or five today.

Time Naewins went. Who would I replace him with? Right now, anybody.

Terrible today but no way is Goodwin deserving the sack

He has turned it around for the club at a time when rumours are that Ogren wanting out and not wanting to put more money in

What I don?t like is putting on too many strikers at the end - it never works

Also Paton and Campbell have been terrible

Have to remember the summer recruitment of Ferry Strain Dalby all been good

Some thought we would be relegated this season so we need some perspective

Whilst I agree with you about the thread, I'm very unhappy with JGs abject post split record. This time round we don't have the same excuses as last time so this is on him. Performances these last three games have been f*cking diabolical and European football is slipping away fast. He needs to learn how toget teams motivated for crunch games because he's failed miserably so far. Cup games, Derby games and now crunch post split games. In fact if it hadn't been for so many last gasp winners and 1-0 wins we'd be down there fighting it out with the c*nts over the road. Not good enough by a long long way right now!

We need to stick with Goodwin. I wouldn't be giving him a contract extension either though. He is contracted until 2026 let him see that out and see in May 2026 where we are regards to getting another deal. We seriously need to get a strikers coach in. We have all other areas covered but that seems a glaring void imo.

All ifs because we lost to Celtic at home, Hibs away and today

To say because of this we would be down at the bottom, it's because of injuries and losing Luca etc that we are struggling now, a small squad and losing key defenders and midfielder aswell as injuries all season we've had to cope with

This post from the op is literally what people said about Levein on here in both 2007/08 and 2008/09 when we fell away after the split both seasons

It was equally stupid from people back then and wrong way to go

If u had said we had a chance of Europe at the start of the season I would have laughed and said 10th place finish at best. Goodwin has made Europe something we could achieve and how glad I would be if we do. But what I don’t agree with is people asking for goodwins head because we might not achieve it. 1 year ago we were in a lower league a place UTD should never be. Goodwin gets my thanks for getting UTD up and keeping us up. Anything else is a bonus. (Could be in a worse position we could be in Dundee's shoes and they do have a chance to go down).
