I was there, or was I?

I can't keep my shame bottled away for any longer.

Although I feel like doing a kinda John Terry/ James Maddison, doning full strip and saying I was there to take part in the glorious celebrations at Hampden yesterday, I wasn't.

I had a ticket but come match day due to the fact none of my mates managed to get tickets, I drive the M8 every day for work and couldn't be ars*ed doing it again and I wasn't 100% sure we could win, I stayed at home and watched it on the tv.

Gutted but f*ck it, I'll head north for the street parade.

P.S remember when Dundee United fans invaded the pitch to celebrate 4th?

I was at work, and went for my break during the shootout, so I was able to see the winning penalty and the team lifting the cup.

I followed the game by BBC text on the road tae Inverness tae play a gig. My poor driver buddy nearly hit the brakes as Ah "Yaassssed" upon news o' Mitov's winnin' save.

During our ceilidh set, the waltz medley, as per usual, Ah sang the second verse o' The Northern Lights' ... with a wee amendment.

'I wandered in many far off lands and travelled many a mile,
to see the Dons, the glorious Dons .. liftin' the cup wi' style
We call them the heavenly dancers, who play in attack and defence.
I'll never forget that wonderful sight, this is one hell of a night'

( Ah'd previously thought tae dae the last line as 'they made the Celts look sh!te' .. but it was a weddin' do, kids present ... ken? )

Onywye .... got back tae Aiberdeen around 3,30 this mornin' ... watched highlights, read some reports etc .... so ye an imagine, Ah was pretty knackered when Ah got up at aroon 11.30am .... and efter ma tea an' toast, went online tae check the time o' the parade.

12pm!! ... Ah looked at the clock ... 11.57am!!! .... f*ck it ... Ah'm nae waitin' anither 35 years ... coat on and up the road in time tae see the bus come ontae Union Street ... fkn magic!!

Brilliant turnoot! Jam packed fae Castlegate tae Market Street .... the rest ye'll see for yersels if ye didna mak it ... there will surely be pics an' vids floodin' the zone fae noo till fk knows fan.

Well done Dons .... players, management, staffers, and ALL fans ... especially the ones fa have gone tae games regularly, supportin' the club through thick an' thin .... whether or nae you ever hold that cup in yer hands, it's yours as much as anybody's ... COYR!

I was at Hampden yesterday and at the parade today.
    F*cking immense.

My (18 year old) loon said last night he wasn't coming today as he was at Hampden, but I told him I was 16 in 1990 and never fully took it in, thinking it would be a regular occurance over the years.

I felt fully vindicated these past two days into brain washing my loons into supporting Aberdeen.

It was brilliant hugging him at Hampden yesterday when the final penalty was saved.

Brilliant weekend - the win, the Weegie overnighter with family, the post-match steak and drinks out, the early dash back to Aberdeen without breakfast, today’s parade and now watching everything I can find online with a Chinese takeaway and a few more drinks. Lots of grown men in tears, present company not excepted. Back to the grind tomorrow!

I was there, with Moog jnr & a 16 seater bus load of mates & their youngsters - it was just a brilliant day.

We were standing not a million miles from where I was standing 35 years ago for the last penalty shootout win.

I told 8 year old Moog jnr in 2014 to enjoy it, cause it doesnt happen that often.

Think 19 year old Moog jnr fully got what I was saying after yesterdays game. The smile on his face was tremendous to see.

My current geographical location means I don't get to physically attend many games in person at all these days, But my Red TV international subscription (for many many years) means I never miss a game home or away and this one was not any different.

The wife and kids are apparently still outside looking for our cat who had unfortunately (for him) decided to park himself on my lap just a few seconds before Mitov saved that cup winning penalty

It's just brilliant being a dandy.
