We have parted company with our head coach, Stuart Maynard.

A statement from our owners, Chris and Alex Reedtz, reads: ?After being unable to achieve our aim of winning promotion this season, we share the disappointment felt by everyone connected with the club.

?While football is a game of fine margins, and Stuart undoubtedly faced numerous challenges over the course of the campaign, neither results nor performances reached the levels we believe the team was capable of - particularly during the defining period towards the end.

"Stuart leaves with our very best wishes and gratitude for his considerable commitment and dedication to the role.

?In the near future we will provide a comprehensive update to supporters, offering more of our own reflections on the 2024-25 campaign while also outlining our approach to next season and beyond.

?Alongside our recently-appointed Head of Football, Roberto Gagliardi, our work is well underway to identify the correct coaching team and new signings to join us on these important next steps of our journey.

?We are highly optimistic about the club?s future and remain as committed as ever to helping Notts County achieve its immense potential.?

Can't argue with that. I won't say good riddance but happy he has gone. Might make a decent assistant coach somewhere - probably back in National League.

I think this decision is the right one for the club. I hope Stuart lands on his feet and gets a suitable job somewhere soon. He seemed like a decent, hard-working guy, and I wish him every success in the future.

    Now, onwards and upwards.

Feels like a relief to hear this news tbh. Good luck to him as he seems a decent and committed guy.

    Now who's next?

Thank God for that. Maybe now we can get a bit of sunshine over the Lane again? Just make it worth us turning up at home games please!

Left him just enough rope to hang himself.

The right decision I think and shows calm professionalism from the owners. Maynard comes across as a nice guy but not enough energy and the assistants departures didn?t help. I wish him well though.

It will be interesting to see who they go for next. Maybe another up and coming tactical coach with someone like JOB in the background doing the shouting?

A quick return for Williams, probably. Or a young manger from Finland. Who knows!
