    O/t:- psg

I hope you have all been watching this fantastic display of attacking football? I knew when they brushed past Liverpool that they would go on to win the whole thing. It's been fantastic to watch, hopefully, the death knell of slow, ponderous possession based football. Ten outfield players being given liberty to attack and defend regardless of where there are supposed to be is a breath of fresh air. The old long ball stuff was taught to coaches, then they were all taught possession, hopefully PSG have changed the face of european football!!
    What a great game.

Staggering stuff. After 15 minutes I asked my son what the biggest ever margin was. And so young, no 38 year olds there !

A joy to watch and that's how football should be played. Nobody is entertained by boring 1-0s with 80% possession. The semi finals and final have been brilliant.

It was a kind of possession football but possession so they could move the ball at their preferred pace (lightening fast) and frighten the opposition which they succeeded in doing, and in spades. Totally wonderful but significant energy given to the press which won back possession and generally quite high up the pitch. Fit, fast, skillful, and outstandingly marshalled by probably the outstanding coach of the moment who managed to change the culture, ditch the prima donnas, and take a quantum jump forward. Fabulous.

My grandad always used to bang on about a famous Brazil coach (i can't remember the name) who said that he never coached his team on what to do with the ball. He expected them to know what to do with it better than him. He instead focussed on telling them what to do when they didn't have the ball.

I think there's something in that.

All this yet Enrique doesn't have odds for the Notts job. i hope he's at least had an interview

He was prepared to go with 3-4-2-1 but he drew the line at using inverted wingbacks.

It was sublime and a masterclass in possession combined with the high press and attacking mentality.

This is why the club should not change its possession based approach for me. If it?s not working then we have to be better at it and the coach is a big part of that but also you need the players to execute it. We had that with Williams and the players in the national league and we will need to have that again with the new head coach and the new squad if we are to get to league one.

I?m not denying or disputing that we don?t need some physicality or spoilers because we need to also be mindful of the league and level we are playing at. We have to be able to compete with the likes of Wimbledon, Salford and others and not get pushed off the ball. Earn the right to play our game as the old saying goes in order to beat those rough and tumble sides.

It's a pity some of their ''fans'' don't behave in the same way has their team.
