Thread: Josh Sargent..?

    Josh Sargent..?

We are being linked to try and deny LUFC from signing Josh Sargent.

Across his three seasons in the Championship, the American has scored 13, 16 and 15 goals per season with an average of 0.37, 0.77 and 0.54 goals per 90 minutes each season. Just what we need, another big strong lad to play alongside Flemming, they'd make a proper handful.

    P/X Foster?

Would Sargent qualify as a Major signing? Perhaps Army can clarify this one for us.

In his defence, army88 has said we need to strengthen our armoury and drill our attackers better, and claims Sargent is just the man to do it.

He might be worth a punt at the right price, I certainly wouldn't push the boat out for him

Looks a bit small for the Premier league he is only 6'1". There will be better value on the continent but we need someone who can hit the ground running and not in 9 months time, so a good shout

Could dish out a bit of corporal punishment to EPL defenders

Ok here goes for you guys.

Sargent is / has been decent but at championship football I believe they payed 8million ish for him and so will be looking for a sizeable profit on that.

So my view on him football wise is his link up play is decent and he played well against us when he came on - however he won’t be afforded that time and space in the elite league.

So my view is this - I believe for the money they’ll want we’d be better looking elsewhere for someone who’s more mobile and stronger - I suppose a lot depends on Parker’s set up and formation and how he wants to go back to front.

For me I’d let Leeds have him and find a stronger quicker version who can worry centre backs no dis respect to him but he doesn’t really excite does he.
