?45 m
Seems a bit low, given how pivotal he is for them?
Rejected out of hand.
Same bid we allegedly went in for him in Jan.
Can't see us going much above ?50 million, agree with Rag that ?55 million is probs tops.
Don?t even think he?s worth that, stupid money he?s no better than Murphy.
Have to stop dealing with premier league teams shop abroad.
Aye, that's a fair point.
Saw someone on Twitter pointing out that 25 mil players are now costing 50 mil and 50 mil players are worth over 80 mil but the amount you're allowed to lose hasm't gone up. So clubs are having to pay more for players but the ceiling of what they can afford hasn't moved.
The amount has been the same (105m) since its inception (2013/14) and Ozil was the most expensive transfer that window, moving to Arsenal for £42.5M.
Fast forward to what is the very tail end of the 24/25 season and a 45M bid is rejected out of hand.
Out of all respects that FFP/PSR is a complete racket, the fact the permissible loss had not been adjusted is the most obvious.
It cant believe there have been no legal challenges to it not even being adjusted by at least inflation.
That 105m in 2013 would be £147.5m as of May 25 thats a f**king big difference!
Villa tabled an increase of the 105m limit to around 145m I believe, it was voted down 16-4.
There is some very perverse voting groups and alliances working in the background.
Interestingly though the cartel used to control the prem and pretty much all votes when Scudamore was in charge passed unanimously as the self interests of all 20 owners were met by the rule changes.
However, it's clear that as the Cartel have become more aggressive in their interference of the 'challenger clubs' to keep them under the boot by pushing Masters and his shills to bring the City Charges and punish Everton & Forest, plus their botched effort to penalise Leicester too, the vote has been split and alliances are now being formed along differing lines.
The mid-table also rans, the Brentfords, Fulhams, Wolves, Palace etc they will continue to fall in line with the Cartel to ensure their breadwinners keep buying their players at premium prices and keep them happily in mediocrity.
Villa, Everton, Forest and Us have woken up to the fact that City are being scapegoated and punished to make an example to 'us Nuevo riche' clubs to stay in your place.
PSR does nothing for those clubs with ambition and a desire to challenge the establishment. Fulham, Brentford, West Ham have no intention of every trying to make a title challenge or a serious tilt for regular Champions League participation so as far as the owners of these clubs are concerned 'We don't have to spend more money to keep our place in the Prem and cream off delicious juicy (credit Jacob Murphy) dividends on the yearly.
There will be more legal challenges by clubs taking the unlawful rules to arbitration. Furthermore, I can see fans groups becoming more active and as they aren't bound by Premier League clubs contracted rules can bring legal action against the likes of the Premier League & the PGMOL in open court cases.
The last thing the Prem crooks want, their rock turned over and their dirty little secrets brought out into the light as they try ti scuttle away back under another dirty rock of corruption.
We've put in a new bid for Elanga according to Fab.
?55 million.
Hopefully that, alongside him appearing to want to come here will be enough to get it rolling.
Not a penny more, 1 week to accept then move on IMO.
Completely agree!
We paid not much more for Isak FFS? we have bought well from Europe under Howe in the past,
We cannot overpay, I think 55 is already paying too much? we can?t set any stupid precedent for being mugs and keep going back and upping our offers and getting strung along or we?ll have every team we approach trying it on
