    Gotta hope

    That's nowhere near starting 11 v Hibs.

Despite playing really poorly especially in 2nd half we still should have won.

But really worrying if we don't get more players in until end of August ....if that's the case real possibility on nil points.

I thought there was too much structure yesterday and players were a wee bit scared to play with any freedom.

But already a large minority of our support want Presley to fail.....self harm ....if our support was a person we wud be sectioned.

Agree with all that. I don't doubt we'll be signing 5 or 6 players but if a fair few of them are last minute deals at the end of August then, as you post, we could be bottom with no points, out of the League Cup and still without a settled team. We tried to play a controlled game but kept going backwards even at the end when we should have thrown caution to the wind. Fin is not the answer in our midfield. He wasn't confident and wasn't adventurous enough. He'll be out of his depth v Hibs etc.

It's been posted many times that the League Cup is one of only two trophy chances we have and treating them like warm up games for the League is no use imo. Losing the first game obviously isn't terminal but it sure makes it damn difficult to qualify. Topping the section is now out of our hands with Airdrie capable of 10, 11 or 12 points. We now need three wins to hope to qualify if Airdrie falter or as one of the 3 second placers. Last season at least a couple of teams on 9 points didn't qualify. If we don't go through we end up with two free Saturdays in August/September when we need to get the team gelling. Going out, whilst not a total disaster, is a real downer. Personally I don't blame Pressley for this at least in total. Where has our planning been in team recruitment? What the hell does Kirkwood and his team, if he has one, do?

Going forward we sure have a lot of work to do.

Playing an Oldham behind closed doors.

Think that tells you all you need to know about where the manager thinks we are.

You really need to qualify as one of the best 3 to avoid seeded teams in next round......we can't do that now so even if we manage to squeak thru.....don't think we will......there's a 50% chance we get old firm, Hibs or Aberdeen.

Last thing the manager needed was a performance and crowd reaction like that.

I think Presley would have to get top 6 to achieve grudging acceptance status from some of the a things ****e brigade.

Any potential signings watching that yesterday would be thinking **** listening to these delusional moon howlers every 2nd week.

still scunnered with the docherty sacking and thanks to Nelms and Strachan, the club is not going forward and there is no continuity for
    this season.
Also disappointed with the number of last seasons squad who declined to sign on for this season when we did not have a manager.
I've been supporting the DEES since the early sixties, but for the first time ever, i feel i have lost my club.
We are now scrambling round trying to get players at this stage of the season, i just feel the heart of the club has gone,
never ever had that feeling before, even when we were in administration, or being relagated, feel now that the club is being led by strangers ?
What will it be next season? another clearout, then mercanary players playing under the banner of DUNDEE FOOTBALL CLUB ?
Not renewed my season ticket, but will pick my games this season, i hope i am proved wrong, but have lost the faith.

That's got everything to do with one man.

A cauld fish, thinks DFC owe him a living and certainly no leader.

I have, along with a guid few others, seen the apathy grow and grow.....when I was complaining 8/9 years ago about dens looking like a tip I was told it didn't matter...new shiny stadium on the way, when I constantly moaned about nelms lack of leadership.....I was told he was a "quiet thinker" 😂.....when I whinged about tic office ....they were trying their best......when I moaned about waiting two years to get money back from club......what do I expect....when I girned about most respected chasing off younger fans.....they deserved it 🤔

Fans should set own standards.....im convinced old excorcist heid sneers at the fans but but but......what if they left ....aye what if they left.

But that has nothing to with current manager or players......who I'll try and support as much as possible

I agree with everything you state.
Nelms has no interest in Dundee Football Club apart from being paid a lavish salary despite being hopeless as the MD.
I do not understand why Tim Keyes has not fired Nelms especially as Nelms was sent to Dundee Football Club to look after Keyes investment in the Club.
Last night a Dundee supporter asked me how much Tim Keyes had invested in Dundee Football Club Limited since FPS acquired a majority shareholding in August 2013.
In August 2013 FPS consisted of Tim Keyes, John Nelms, Bill Colvin and Steve Martin.
Colvin resigned in June 2015 because Keyes would not listen to his concerns about the way John Nelms was running Dundee Football Club instead backing Nelms and telling Colvin that if he was not happy he could resign as a partner in FPS and Chairman of Dundee Football Club Limited.
    Steve Martin left in 2019.
According to the Dundee Football Club Limited annual accounts for the year ending 31st May 2024 Football Partners Scotland LP is controlled by Timothy Keyes a director in the company. There was no mention about John Nelms.
The Dundee Football Club Limited Profit and Loss account at 31st May 2013 had a deficit of £2,345,909
The Profit and Loss account at 31st May 2024 had a deficit of £14,256,628.
This is an increase of £11.909,719 which has to be funded by Football Partners Scotland LP (FPS) as Dundee Football Club Limited have no bank overdraft facilities.
I do not know how much Tim Keyes contributed to the £480,000 purchase of FPS’s majority shareholding in Dundee Football Club Limited but it must have been substantial enough to send John Nelms to Dundee Football Club to become the club’s new Director of the Football Academy and look after Keyes investment.

Was wondering about what is happening with ALK Capital and their decision to buy Espanyol in Spain for a debt fuelled price of ?130m. I suppose it has little effect on the players we will get from Burnley, but I might be wrong. Play in Spain or play in Scotland, might be a factor for young players. Who knows?

    Nelms was right about you.
