    Players or Mason

Is it down to an average squad or Mason?

For me yes we know a creative midfielder is needed but for me it?s Mason. Millwall, Bristol, Hull and Stoke don?t play garbage football so their managers must be doing a good job!

Starting selections have been awful - lateness of subs poor - too defensive - but for me it?s the absolute awful passing back and sideways which is a complete borefest! Zero attempts at goal v Millwall and Ipswich and one attempt at Watford besides the goal. Clearly not good enough! Is this fair on the 2,000 of our supporters at each of those games?

Some go on about spend but Heggebo and Campbell cost circa 6 million and not great and many would say poor and the loan players bang average at best. Take Grimes at Coventry who is pulling the strings - he cost less than Heggebo. Whose fault is all this - the Nestor Model or Mason?

Is it in out and shake them all about with team selections for example - Gilchrist did OK at Watford and Campbell was outpaced for their goal and then Campbell starts v Ipswich. Does Mason not know his best and most consistent team albeit yes there will be some rotations!

It seems to me Mason does not have a clue and Abella is shouting instructions in his ears or with a notepad in his face! Where did this sideways and backwards football originate from? Well that?s an easy one to answer!

What next v Wednesday? Wallace to be starting or Grant and Dike who look absolutely knackered! Next three games must be 6 points out of 9 for me or Mason needs to go!

Would another manager do any better? Yes I honestly think they would which is why I mentioned a few clubs like Millwall, Hull, Bristol or even newly promoted Charlton. Blues are average but what I will say about them is from the off they set up to at least try and win and entertain.

Any other views as this football is truly ****e?

Al we couldnt afford Grimes when Coventry bought him due to FFP. This summer is the only time we have had wiggle room due to sales. With what little we had in January, we bought Price who has been phenomenal for us.

We cant look at every signing we have not made and say, thats the Nestor Model at fault. The Nestor Model is exactly that, a model. Nestor and Patel have done fantastic. We should be in league one! Instead we have assets and some foundations in place to work from. That is far more than we should have expected a couple of years ago.

The Heggem sale probably saved us from a points deduction. He cost us £600k and was one of the first signings under Nestor.

There is some obvious learning for Mason and room for improvement but the lack of creativity is obvious. Put whoever in charge and it will be the same. It will need a window or two to fix.

We know we couldn?t afford him Matt at the time but the point was we bought Heggebo which cost more than Grimes and he?s not exactly impressed. So who missed the key positions at the start of the season or creative midfielder instead of Heggebo which every one is identifying now? We have three forwards ( two are crocs ) and the one is not clinical.

Enough said on the players as for me it?s the truly awful football sideways and backwards passing. No attempts on goal v Millwall and Ipswich is shocking! Did the 2000 supporters at each match just go for the sightseeing.

As mentioned Millwall - Bristol and Hull don?t play this boring football as that?s just three teams.

Empty seats will start to appear as again not many don?t mind losing but with that football and no attempts on goal! Come on.

Fans will rightly start turning on Mason soon if the next three games are not a huge improvement and to be honest - many are already!

Our recruitment is poor. Even Boro supporters in the pubs were saying Junior was crap. To me he?s average and certainly not a Premier player.

Just below/average players throughout the whole squad. One or two of course have qualities but to few and are not consistent enough to warrant a higher team. No one player stands out and on their day each player can perform as expected from championship players. But there is no one with real quality or creativity. Lots of hard workers but NO smart workers, sadly. As said before, I would keep Mason and see how the season pans out and if there is any improvement in performances.
But expectations really need to be within range for a bang average squad. There are too many teams in much better position then Albion.
And all other teams will always look better then Albion, when it is so average a squad.

You only really settle the debate of coach or players when the manager goes and someone else comes in.

We found out the hard way that we were overperforming under Corberan.

I would still give mason some time and back him.

I dont want attacking football if it means we get leathered every game because we are not good enough to beat teams! Thats what happened under Mowbray
