Was watching Everton v spurs Sunday....well glancing up from mail on Sunday.
Gary Neville ( guy that hates the flag and middle aged white men ) said "Everton are one of the few clubs who have brought their sole with them to their new ground"
I thought about this re DFC......if we ( DFC) have a soul left ( 50/50 on that)....will we take it to any new ground and what has Nelms DFC done to make us buy in re new stadium.
The only answer I cud think of to the two part question is probably not and nothing.
As I say 3,000 people can't all be wrong.
Strachan's input....was....Dens is ****.
A great point Rross. I agree with your that there appears to be little evidence that our owners are thinking about this.
You would hope that now that this point has been raised it will receive some attention from the club.
I would think that both DSA and Dee4life should be offering to supply groups of supporters who might have ideas to deliver this concept of "soul".
Great suggestion and the negativity towards the new stadium project might be replaced with a new Dens ethos.
Well said!
From memory I seem to remember Strachan stating that only Dundee FC supporters aged over 80 have seen the glory days at Dens Park.
Rubbish.
I am in my early 70’s and I saw the glory days in the 1960’s at Dens Park with me attending my first home game at Dens Park at the beginning of the 1960-61 season.
Perhaps Strachan is just parroting what Nelms has told him to say to make sure he gets his shares in Dundee Football Club Limited.
Maybe it is not necessary for the stadium to be built. Just getting planning permission might create enough planning gain to recover enough cash to allow our owners to sell us to a new set of investors.
I think our owners are investing in the playing side, however, their strategy seems to be trying to find low cost rough diamonds that they can polish, and sell for enough profit to cover their wage costs and make a contribution to the other costs.
This might work but at present the players seem to not realise that football is a team game, and no matter what they do as individuals, they really need to try much harder to help each other.
I think their expectations are if they do what they are told, they are actually learning their craft.
This is a coaching problem imo, brought about by a flawed approach to runn8ng our club.
