He's known his time at the toon was over long ago. Just had to wait till June 30th for contractual reasons.

Good luck to him.If any of us knew we were out of a job on a particular date we would find another one as soon as possible,so why not Rafa.

Rafa seemed to have signed on the dotted line in super quick time.
30th June his contract ends. 2 days later he signs a contract with a Chinese club and apparently sounds off about it being the project he was looking for coming at the right time.

    Something doesn't smell too fresh.
Apparently telling all and sundry that this is the perfect project for him and the 12 million a season contract, after tax is basically not a reason for him being there. Apparently he was offered much more in his time as a manager.

    Integrity indeed.

Did the CLUB not say they would not be retaining his services a week before?. Do you honestly think anyone who knows they are going to loose their job does not look for alternatives? Also Rafa admitted the project excited him and the money being given to him was good.
Integrity is something you know eff all about. Now why don't you go and peddle your sh1te to your pals at rtg

This was the perfect project for him!. It was just that Ashley didn't see it that way. Rafa obviously believes he still has lots to give a club who wants it at a reasonable salary. The amount of money offered to him just says how much he is still valued and fair recompense for being half way the round the world and away from family.
The galling thing is now we will never know where he could have taken us.
