South Challenge Cup Final At Palmerston

Not sure if it has been mentioned already but the above final will be played at Palmerston tomorrow afternoon featuring Dalbeattie Star v East Kilbride, 3pm ko.
Free scoring Dalbeattie (55 goals from 21 games)can finish top scorers in the Lowland League if they score three times in their final league fixture away to Threave Rovers on Monday night and if they win will finish in a creditable third place behind Spartans and Stirling Uni.
East Kilbride will prove difficult opponents having lost only 33 goals in their 22 league matches. The third best defensive record in the league,
    Should be a cracking final...

Quite a few Queens fans from the Granite Town plus ex - residents now staying in Dumfries heading along to Palmerston today in support of the Star.

East Kilbride won 2-0 after 90 mins, scoring the first just before half-time, and the clincher from a penalty in the second half ... they deserved to win it to my eye, they looked stronger up front ... the ref was busy, at least 6 Dalbeattie players booked and 2 or 3 East Kilbride booked (I lost count!) ...

Agree Lord P the best team won. Star had a couple of chances which fell to Wayne Gordon a wee chunky striker who I remember played for the
'' village people '' around 12 years ago but his
opposite number in the East Kilbride team McDougall was far too good for a shaky Dalbeattie central defence.
