    Jermaine Defoe

    Always liked him, me.
Didn't he want to return from exile to the Premier League because he believed he still had something to offer? The money was good when he upped and left England.
The emotion he showed when he scored that blinder against his rivals last season, he was crying because he knew what it meant to the club and fans.
Four**** (edit) goals in a rubbish side this season should see Sunderland safe. Should.

After his injury time equalising penalty today he was asked after the game what was going through his head as he stepped up to take it.
Without a pause for a media friendly answer he immediately answered, "You haven't got a choice. I have to score".

Maybe our young up and coming players could learn a thing or two from this old master.

One thing you will always get from a player like Defoe is goals, he has the experience and confidence to step up and take a penalty. He knows what it means for his club and fans and is just doing his job and gets on with it. He will need to produce more in the final three games of Sunderland's season, and even then it may not be enough.

He's again proved that there's still life in the old dog by scoring one of the goals in Sunderland's win over Chelsea today.

    What a bargain.
A win against Everton will keep Sunderland up. Who would you prefer leading your front line at times like this.
    Defoe or Cisse?

Edit: Vardy has 22 this season? Defoe has 15 in a rubbish side.
    Fair play.

Hope Sunderland only draw their midweek match. And Norwich win theirs. If Sunderland win, there'll be almost no drama on the final day of the season. Only spot up for grabs would potentially be the UCL and Europa league spots. Relegation battle is always more intriguing to me.

From a personal point of view, one brother-in-law follows Palace and the other is a Sunderland supporter, I''m hoping Sunderland stay up and hopefully get three points against Everton to ensure safety.

My third brother-in-law probably has the best idea, he doesn't follow football.
