Yannick Bastos not yet ready for first-team football...

YANNICK Bastos is likely to need time to adjust before coming into contention for Wanderers’ first team, claims Dougie Freedman.

The Luxembourg international, pictured, is on the verge of signing on a permanent deal from FC Differdange.

Freedman has watched the midfielder personally and feels he has got a good chance of making the grade in English football.

But the Wanderers boss admits it will take Bastos time to come to terms with the professional game, after only four seasons of top flight football in Luxembourg.

“He’s a very young player, 20 years of age, and he is really for the development squad,” he said.

“He is studying over there but he’s not really for the first team right now. We’ll see how things go.

“I keep an eye on the future of this football club. People keep telling me to concentrate on the first team but that’s what I do."

Bastos, who has four caps for his country, agreed personal terms this evening and should pen an 18-month contract early next week.

ridiculous signing,he will never be ready for championship football, with respect (which means I am actually going to really insult the player and country concerned) how are we ever to get back in the premiership with Luxembourg international footballers!

what he means is that he has no time to impress playing football because he has a job as a DJ on Radio Lux which is the countries best contribution since letting the Germans make a bomb factory there free of charge without any fight

like bwfc no fight for their rights just lets look, listen and go along with it all and fight among ourselves.
