    D_D's players ratings vs. Bournemouth

Well, has the phrase "a game of two halves" been more appropriate? Derby, and in particular, their passing, was awful first half. Our movement and urgency was equally poor. Second half, however, was a completely different story, and Derby really ticked. Perhaps we were lucky not to be behind at half time, but second half, we deserved our goal, and what a goal it was.

    On to the ratings:

Grant 8- He did nothing wrong once again. Punched one tricky cross very well. When we needed him most, he came and claimed the ball, and held it. A great performance from one of our key leaders.

Wisdom 7- I was toying with giving him a 6, as his passing was woeful, but he was never really beaten by their wingers. Defensively, he was sound enough to warrant a 7, but I want to see the maurauding Wisdom return. We got a glimpse first half when he dispossessed and turned Rantie, before charging into their half.

Keogh 7- Grabban completelty turned him first half, which in fairness, was class. That was his

Generally agree with most of those ratings.

I was really frustrated with Wisdom first half, he gave the ball away far too cheaply, especially for a player who is apparently highly rated at Liverpool. But a much better second half.

I do disagree with Sammons rating. I thought he was excellent when he came on. Dawkins obviously catches the eye more for overall control and ability to dribble the ball past players at pace but I though Sammon did his job superbly, it was one of the best spells I've seen from him. He was such a handful for the defenders. I'd have him as a definite 7, maybe even an 8.

    Grant -8- Another decent performance.
Wisdom -7- showed glimpses of class, rarely beaten, needs to go forward more.
Keogh -5- Horrific first half performance, nearly scored a bewildering own goal, Bambi on ice with the ball. Steady in the second half.
Buxton -9- not a foot wrong, dispersion was class, he's clearly learned to cope with pacey strikers.
Forsyth -4- the Forsyth of old first half, average second.
Eustace -7- man marked while he was on the pitch, coped well enough, got stuck in.
Hughes -8- made a couple of world class dribbles first half, orchestrated our attacks during the second.
    Hendrick -6- steady.
Bamford -1- a very sloppy passer, off of the top of my head I can't think of once were he retained possession, apart from one quality cross field pass. Had one opportunity to shoot and struck it wide.
Martin -6- referees have wised up to his free kick winning antics, I don't think he got one all game, it's a good thing he can take them though!
    Russell -8- an absolute menace

Agreed Hughes was my man of the match. He made things happen. His beating of a number of men and drive towards goal got us the free kick we got the goal from. He looks like he's getting his good form back again.

Russell still doesn't do it at the end. He doesn't seem to know when to release the ball and for all his pace and determination when he gets the ball you know there will be no end product. Lets hope Steve/management training can improve him and he will develope into a good player.

    You're getting there D_D.
Actually thought Eustace did okay first half.. Nothing special and hats off to the management team for having the nads to make changes..
Martin I would give a 7 at best. He spent most of the first half trying to get free kicks again and the ref was having none of it. Seconds half he started to sulk a little as well. Quality strike though which will be what is remembered.
    Russell. Final ball...
Again an average display if we are honest but at this stage it's all about the result.
On the plus side I parked in chad today and it was much easier to get away.

For me we had a number of players that were awful today. Wisdom, Forsyth, hendrick, and bamford, none of these deserve more than a 4 in my opinion. Dawkins looked great when he came on and hughes was quality. Grant was good again but **** knows why he would throw the ball out to forsyth when he is marked almost costing us, and to then shout at forsyth was baffling to say the least. Worst performance of the day though goes to the ref, worst i have seen in a long long time. He deserves sacking for that ******** today.
