    Les Payne leaving

It sounds like this will be the last season for The Star's Les Payne reporting on Rotherham United.

He's set to leave in June...

Hope they can find a media type role for him at club (maybe we wouldn't have had all that fallout from the Advertiser earlier in the season if there'd had been a liaison between club and local paper) Be a shame to let his talents go to waste, maybe in a reporting role similar to what he does now- only for RUFC! Top reporter and fan too

Good bloke is Les. Think this is why the Star took Paul Davis (the reporter not the one at the club) on in prep for him leaving.

    One hell of a 'prep'

Paul Davis has been at the Star for over 25 years, hasn't he?

I hope Les is planning to publish his memoirs.

Yeah I didn't mean as a fresh employee from scratch. Been there a long while but started doing a lot of Millers stuff this season, probably taking on more stuff in that area if Les is leaving?

    Could just be a coincidence.

He must know more about Rotherham United than anyone else on this planet, with all the facts and figures he has accumulated over the years.I have never spoken to him, but imagine he is a nice bloke.Good luck to him in future!.
