    SOUTHAMPTON- '...a difficult financial situation'

Their new director Hofstetter says.A loss of more than A?7m, A?27m outstanding in transfer fees and looming is a A?30m bill for a new training ground. Clear the desks- asset stripping galore is surely pending. Shaw (various), Schneiderlin want to join a 'great' club, Lovren and Rodriguez (Liverpool), Lallana, Lambert (West Ham?), Chambers (Arsenal), etc., etc.- let's see the place as empty as the trophy cabinet.

Asset stripping is a means to repay outstanding debts only usually employed when said debts can't be serviced.

Most people or organisations with any financial nous and responsibility would know that.

    Hope this helps.

Which one? Only one I can think is Gaydamak, and that asset stripping was due to Daddy's Bank account being frozen. If you actually read the full report Katharina has the same desire as her late father. Meltdown commenced then.

Don't want to gran. There is nothing worse than a poster who thinks his contribution is better because his computer skills outweigh the subject matter.

Anyone who knows finance will see that actually we make a profit day-to-day.

It is also apparent why Cortese had to leave...his spending was getting out of control. Take the training ground for instance...A?15m budget and a A?30m spend. Someone that manages budgets that badly clearly has to go.

However, the club is in a very stable position and Katarina clearly doesn't want out; Cortese's departure would have been the ideal time to sell.

All this means that the club is in a far more secure position now than it ever was under Cortese. Kat will keep a close eye on the purse strings and will invest wisely. She ain't going anywhere-her actions have proved that.

Hmmm. I think she'll sell. Your manager has also cast doubt whether he'll be there next season.
