Mum, Dad... Both in their sixties and off to Gillingham tomorrow to cheer on the lads.
I'd say they are a pair of gold nuggets.
Fair play to them I say!!!

Been out with the old man tonight. The old boy has been through the wringer of late with multiple health difficulties and a 10 day stay in hospital. Tonight he took me to his favourite Chinese restaurant to celebrate the end of a series of rather unpleasant medical procedures. During the meal the old boy turned bright red. I asked him if he was okay and he said "It's this bleddy vest".
I said he should take it off he was hot. He looked at me strangely and with some suspicion. Eventually he got up and went to the toilet. After 20 minutes or so he still hadn't returned to his seat. I went into the toilets and called his. A cubicle door opened and the old boy poked his head around the corner. He looked from side to side to see if the coast was clear. Eventually he came out of the cubicle. He was wearing a bullet proof vest! He told me that he had worn one everyday for the last 40 years and despite being extremely overheated, wasn't prepared to take it off and let down his guard aft

At 85, he'll be set in his ways and you can bet that the vest is long past its expiration date (in all probability, just like his shirts).
Meaningless struggle and discomfiture; so often a depressing feature of old age.
My Dad went mad I thought, new windows in the house , pointing , garden done .
He found out he had got an aggressive cancer and was putting his house in order.
The first I knew he was knocking on my door at 3 in the morning.
The daft old lad was trying to drive to the hospital but the pain was too bad.
Thats when we found out.
Weston Park for 10 days .
RIP DAD.
More like a Brother than a Dad
I hardly saw mine when I was growing up.
If he's been wearing it for 40 years what made him start wearing it, The Bay City Rollers or Showaddywaddy? It's almost 70 years since WWII ended.
I only recently found out something about my parents that I never knew and as a parent myself there are many things about me my kids don't know so I'd say, on the whole, not very well. Unfortunately many of us leave it far too late before trying the get to know our parents at all - I know I did.
When you reach 50 just look in the mirror and low and behold...your dad!
I never knew my Dad my mum divorced him when I was 6 months old and he never came to visit my mum re married an Irish guy that hated me because I was from another bloke but I know he loved me mum very much I had a life time of ups and downs with the old fellow may they both now rest in peace.
Watched football with my Dad for 35 years.
Started off supporting Wednesday before moving to the Millers towards the end of the 1970's.
Season ticket holders for 35 years.
We did our fair share of away matches too.
My Dad and my brothers must have talked about every aspect of football that there was to mention!
Apparently not...
My Dad passed away a couple of years ago, but about a year before he passed away he told me that he went to the semi-final of the World Cup in Sweden in 1958. He saw Brazil beat France 5 - 2, with Pele scoring a hat-trick.
I never knew until about 12 months before he passed away.
I asked how he managed to get tickets. 'Tickets?' he replied. 'We paid on the day and just went in'.
Pele scored 2 in the final..aged 17
