    Global sports salaries

Interesting info about salaries on Sporting Intelligence's website.

Man City top the list with an average annual salary of about 5.3m (about 102k per player per week).

Saints sit down in 155th spot with an average annual salary of about 1.2m (~24k per week).

QPR are noteworthy at 70th, with their players receiving on average 2.1m per year (~41k per week). Going to get interesting if they fail to get promoted this term..

    Scary stuff.

Wonder how much Mick Channon or Steve Moran would be earning now in their pomp.

Had Channon earnt a stupid amount as a footballer I very much doubt he'd have ended up being a successful and very well respected racehorse trainer.

It does make you wonder what half this lot do for the rest of their lives.

I'm hoping Guly brings our average down massively. Take him out of the equation and I'd like to think we'd be in the top 100.

Blimey, I didn't realise that the IPL paid so much.

That's why the England cricket team couldn't get a decent coach - all the best ones are getting paid stupid amounts for 2 months work.

That link doesn't work for me. Does it give annual or weekly salaries then? Whilst the IPL pays large amounts it should be remembered it's only for 2 months.
