Don't want to start another thread but to Fawaz's credit I think he is appointing managers to please us, we wanted BD and we got him and Fawaz went out of his way to get SP, I'm not going to be popular with what I'm going to say but we should of got Warnock and Fawaz should of given him what he wanted, we could now be sitting pretty in the play offs, don't get me wrong I love Stuart Pearce but we f'd up and wasted our chance.

TBF Es*** most fans are very complimentary about Nigel and recognise what he achieved, it was his team yesterday bar 2 loanees.

As a big Clough fan, I said long before he got the sack that his cautiousness would be his undoing.

One thing Mac has brought is his best form of defence is attack philosophy so he is equally responsible for our remarkable season.

As the naming of the thread suggests that Derby side was built by Clough and your right the finishing touches are from Mclaren, But yes in this league you have to just go for it not just sit back and hope for a result which I think we have been guilty of this season, yes in this league just attack and win FFS forest

Wrong wrong wrong es***, why is it your giving NC ALL the credit for what he's done at sheffield united when its clearly David Wiers team, if you won't credit Maclaren with what he's achieved because it not his team then you must do the same with NC, Wier deserves the credit there

I disagree with that completely

Spotting talent and building a squad is a huge skill; so who built the team is very important.

Derby and Forest will tell you how important Peter Taylor was, for that very reason. He had a much better eye for a player than Brian and their skills complemented one another.

I am inclined to believe this more than the post after it.

It's not like NC took Derby to point A with say 10 games to go, and then SmC came and finished the job. If that were so, then NC deserves a huge share of the credit.

SmC took over with less than half of games played and took Derby to where they will finish - play-offs or Premiership. The bulk of the credit is his, and his alone
