No they don't.
Any idea?
No they don't.
No - they don't count.
I have never understood the logic of people asking if/saying away goals count double.Originally Posted by the_idiotb_stardson
In no football competition i am aware of in history have away goals counted as double.
If this were the case a team could draw 0-0 at home and then lose 4-3 away and they would then win 6-4 on away goals with this bizarre logic.
The law of away goals states that if teams are level on aggregate the team with MORE away goals will go through. MORE does not mean DOUBLE. they are two different words which mean different things.

So is that a no then?
ok lets word it differently then, if after extra time the teams are level will the away goals rule apply or was that got rid of a few years ago?

It will be interesting to see how both teams approach this one. Normally the first legs are very cagey with neither team wanting to give any kind of advantage.
We really only know one way to play and it's got us this far so I'd rather go out 7-6 on aggregate than have two nil nils and go out on Pens!
Still think it should have been the final.
BF i couldnt agree with you more and i really do wish this was the final. In my head you where the ones to watch but we now have to beat you over two legs which will be no easy task and I think you Millers feel the same. It is very very hard to separate the two clubs with pts & Goal diff almost identical. I really really cannot predict how this going to finish, god my stomach is already churning and its 6 days to the first leg.Originally Posted by BradfordFozzie

In this scenario it wouldn't matter anyway its a 3-4 loss. You would have to have won the 1st leg 1-0, 2-1 or 3-2 to win by the away goals ruling.
Some people really take everything as literal.
