    squad numbers

    does anyone know if we are going to have squad numbers nxt season because if teams like cowden have them i see no reason why we cant

    Personally, I think squad numbers are a terrible idea but we're stuck with it ..

    Agreed. They are a terrible and unnecessary idea. The league body is charged with trying to attract people back through the turnstyles, and that is the best they can come up with. These incompetents need to be sacked and people who can actually do the job brought in.

    However, we are stuck with it. A lot of unnecessary expense.

    From the start of the season all teams must have squad numbers ands on the shirts

    I think the reason for us not having squad numbers this season was that the club had already got their kit with traditional numbering before the squad numbering/name issue had been properly agreed following the formation of the SPFL. I don't have a problem with squad numbering but it is a bit of a farce when players can be numbered up to 99 as Antoine-Curier of Hamilton has as his squad number, or they can choose their own number for whatever, often sentimental, reasons. It would be better IMO if the clubs registered a pool of 1st team players, up to 22 for example, and the squad numbering was restricted to those numbers, with any on loan players taking up from no. 23, 24, etc. Anyway, I suppose it is a small concession to make in order to be involved in the SPFL Championship and the chance to make the top division.
