    Transfers / Alan Nixon

Alan Nixon has said on Twitter that we are definitly interested in Parr and also a 'squad' centre back who is a free agent, Nixon described him as a good player.

He confirmed that it's not Whitbread and there will be a story in the Sunday People.

interesting. I can't imagine after such a fantastic season that forsyth won't start as first choice left back. will parr want to come in on the bench? fight for a place?

I guess looking at a squad centre back suggests that we'll be sticking with Keogh and bucko as our centre back pairing next season. agreed we have more pressing priorities but if we're really going to go for it we need better than Keogh imho. remember Igor's impact back in the day? paul McGrath? that's the kind of quality we need.

Parr can play right back, could we play him there?

Yep! He played there when they signed Moxey who went LB. When Moxey got injured he retained it

I haven't seen much of Parr but from what I have seen of him I think he's a good player. Yes Forsyth had a good season, but in the end he isn't even a defender, which is proven. Parr IS a defender, he's a left back, and is in my opinion better than Forsyth. Sign Parr, start him as left back and have Forsyth as a utility player. He can fill in at left back, left midfield or left wing (his actual permission).

Parr was getting good reviews at Palace in their promotion season, and lost his place through injury where Moxey did well and did not deserve to lose his place when Parr came back. We've seen that with Legdzins and Fielding, although that was through suspension, and also with Eustace and Thorne, also through suspension. Had Eustace not picked up so many yellow cards Thorne may not have even broke into the team and we wouldn't all be raving about him now.

On the topic of the "squad" CB, I thought it would be Whitbread until I read the whole of the original post but it will be inter
