    Englands 2nd string Vs Ecuador

Bright start for our attackers, lambert Ox and Barkley looking bright. Poor defending from smalling and shaw for the goal. A mixed bag. Im hoping barkley has a stormer. And i hope milner does well, very under rated and i think he could do a job at RB.

I agree he could do a job at RB, he could be a dark horse for that position.

Yep he is there, unless he has left his ticket on a table somewhere.

I'm convinced we're a better side with lambert up front. you can see how much space he's creating by working the channels.

whether that means sturridge playing on the left in behind with rooney and lallana/barkley so be it.

    start rickie!

predictably I also think we've looked much better with the forward thinking wilshere in the team ;-)

I'm not so sure having 2 forward thinking midfielders as the last line of defence before the back 4 is that wise though. Ecuador were cutting through us, its scary what uruguay and italy would do. I would never argue that henderson is a better player than wilshere, im just not a fan of sticking your best 11 players out there, thats been part of the english problem since the days of sven.

yeah fair points. I just think we've tried playing the 'european' way. the slow defence way. lets stick to what we're good at and attack.

not that I want to turn this into another Henderson bashing but I've always thought he's not defensive minded anyway. almost like he's been asked to play a defensive role when he's probably better (or not as bad ;-) ) going forward?
