Our PR is built along the same lines as the Better Together campaign.. "Project Fear" .. never come out with anything upbeat anything for the fans to get enthused about . I will never forgive them for the way they handled our PR on our first ever and probably only qualification for the Champions League instead of winding the fans up getting them rocking to sell tickets they were peddling the "we are skint agenda" within a week and were relentless on it ...

Quite frankly I'd rather they were busy trying to improve our situation than telling us they're busy trying to improve our situation.

I certainly don't expect a blow by blow account of every days' detailed happenings, but things are just too quiet. As I've said before the new league season kicks off in about 10 days time and you'd think the club would be eager to sell more season tickets/hospitality and the like. Generally give the fans a lift after our Europa League debacle. Lets face it the support needs a lift. Is the lack of a Communications Officer something to do with the silence? It would take a mere 10 minutes to cobble together some kind of motivational article surely?

Lack of Communications Officer ??? Don't kid yourself if they had a bleeding heart Armageddon scenario they could put to print they'd be on here quicker than a rat up a drain pipe.

A motivational article which says what exactly? sorry and we'll try harder? Half the people on here have been ranting about not wanting to hear any more of that stuff.

When we do announce a friendly/signing there will be a natural chance to apologise and talk about ambitions for the season...and tbh the only thing which will genuinely improve the mood is a motivated performance against St Mirren.

Also worth pointing out the comms officer in the job advert was to head the media team - there are media types there who could/should be able to rattle out something if it were desired.

Why the need for a Media Team ? A one man job surely - now there's a saving to be made.

Safe to say we're all fakkt off with the result against the fish-finger men. And, admittedly, our club's PR ain't always the best ... but some realism is needed methinks. Could the fact we're in the middle of a holiday period not be just cause for the relative lack of info? Would certainly mean we don't have a media 'team', 'cos no business would allow all team members to be on holiday simultaneously ?! However, I'm wondering if there was communications just now, would certain posters not just take that as a means to have a further jibe !?

Not really - the programmes seem excellent these days and are verging on magazine quality (for the bigger games, at least), which needs writing, editing, commissioning, someone needs to do graphics and layout, someone needs to deal with publishers, there's whatever TV/youtube stuff we do, there's video analysis of every first team and U20 game, there's the website, there's technical stuff behind almost all of this to a varying extent, someone needs to deal with local/national media enquires...

It's ridiculous to suggest the current Motherwell media arrangement is anything like a one man job. And from what
