Quite simply, we as a club are a sinking ship

And I hold this opinion for the following reasons.

We have, despite repeated on field success in recent years done nothing in response but downsize with the club hammering home the fact that we are skint and losing money hand over fist regardless of how well we perform in the league. Despite finishing 3rd, 2nd and 2nd again we still find ourselves having to cut costs, lose key players year on year with no adequate replacements and sooner or later that is going to catch up with us and then some. Because...

...Despite good league performances our domestic Cup displays in the same period have been nothing short of disgraceful. These are the games which the club tell us repeatedly are crucial to us in terms of bringing in revenue to the club, yet in the last three years we have; bottled it against a poor Hibs side at For Park in the 11/12 League Cup, bottled it again against an Aberdeen side who's number we had in the league in the same season's Scottish Cup, then disgracefully sh%t it a

Why not just enjoy our "golden era" as you put it?

Unfortunately we're in an area where most folk support the old firm or foreign teams. The fact we're punching above our weight makes me even prouder to be a Motherwell fan. Defying the odds season after season.

I've never came across another set of fans who are so negative towards their own team. Other fans defend their teams to the end. A lot of our fans slate our club continuously even after 3 terrific seasons.

We've been awful in cups but league positions don't lie. Try getting behind the team for a change and give the club some credit.

Here here we'll said time to get behind the team starting on Saturday Aberdeen get 2 full houses even st Johnstone get 8500 and 7000 we can't muster 5000 for out game yet we expect club to splash out on plYers time for a reality check I am disgusted currently with our pr as it's non existant and is causing this negativity but they need our support so let's get behind them instead of constantly belittling them

    We're all doomed!!!

much of what LSM says is true, but much of it is not in isolation to motherwell football club. Businesses across many sectors are having to do the same or similar to what the club are doing now.

Much of the perceived failure on the field (using LSM and stevex logic) is the inability to capitalise upon the absence of bigger clubs. Isn't their absence sufficient indication of the difficult job the club has in remaining an SPL side let alone a successful one?

I don't wish to be arrogant or inflammatory but if anyone disagrees with the point I'm making then it says more about their lack of business and economic awareness than my perhaps "happy clappy" stance as a fan.

Football is an industry and motherwell like all other scottish football teams are a business who are experiencing difficulty in attracting sufficient demand for the product that they supply. It is a changed industry and scottish football is struggling to adapt, not just motherwell.

    So far a negative

Absolutely correct - as anyone who had seen St Mirren fans or Killie fans on their forums just some months after winning their League Cups would h

In what way is the future any bleaker now than when we built on winning the Scottish Cup by getting relegated (and should have been relegated again straight after promotion)?

Is it bleaker now than the late 70s/early 80s when we were horrific on and off the pitch? Is it bleaker than the admin years (or the years before them, which were horrific in football terms)?

Is the chance we've missed now - which is relative given we've delivered top three football and smashed records for three seasons - on a shoe string worse than when we were backed by a multi-millionaire?

We've had a good few years, we're now heading for a bad few years by the looks of things. It's what happens to all clubs that are not absolutely dominant, I really don't see the need for the whole toys out the pram attitude that some seem to have.

It's not that I don't agree with some of your points, it's that I don't necessarily see the point of complaining in such a way. No one supports Motherwell for glory (or they sh
