Thread: The Season Ahead

    The Season Ahead

First of all, a win, we took our chance and won. I am chuffed. Still second.

I agree with some of the people on here that the season starts now, however I am still disappointed with our European exploits. Our manager has done very well with the budget he has to work within, but we had a chance to increase our overall budget slightly by known beforehand that we could play Lech Poznan had we beat the part timers. Disappointing. Finishing second is great and the fact that we are the best of the rest for the past few seasons shows consistency, which is good, however there is no point in finishing second and getting a ticket to the Europa league party, so to speak and then failing to turn up to that party.

I could not find an audio commentary on the game today but followed on twitter and BBC Scotland on DAB. Blimey, they love Aberdeen. Billy Dodds said something interesting after the game, which was roughly, "The mighty Motherwell continue to over achieve". I see us to continue to ac

absolute nonsense, Dan the man saved us from a pounding today, he didn't come to collect just the one cross by my count, he actually came and took about 10, some at him some away from him, Law, Erwin, Carswell and Kerr looked good, Reid looked injured, las was well, las, st mirren worth at least a point but we will get sharper and fitter, great 3 points

We will improve as the season goes on - but only if players are given the opportunities when they deserve them Erwin's now getting his chance and seems to be grabbing it with both hands - good luck to the boy! Reid and Carswell are already there on merit - too many of the senior players have taken their positions for granted. Age should not be a barrier if a boy has the talent - he won't get the experience if we don't play him. That would soon make the senior players increase their efforts or ship out. They will be no loss if they are not giving their all!!!!

Dan the man was our man of the match today.
To suggest otherwise would be to suggest you were watching the game with your eyes closed.

Erwin is not quite ready yet - maybe a few appearances from the bench? Carswell - not at all convinced by him - he had a poor game today.
