    U20s v Aberdeen

Just watched the highlights. Difficult to tell how O'Brien performed. Anyone there encouraged by what they saw?

We were beaten 3-1 despite fielding a reasonably experienced line up featuring the likes of McHugh, Lawson, Ojamaa, Ainsworth, and O'Brien and Vigurs. Surprised to learn Ainsworth was included - maybe he needs more game time??

Despite fielding what seemed to be a fairly inexperienced line up the Dons came out on top. Some of defending was dreadful, Ainsworth hit the bar and David Ferguson was carried off - hope he's ok.

The Aberdeen side had several recognizables so we weren't just beaten by kids.

That said, 20 minutes in the second half apart, we were dismal. No pressing, no building from the back, couldn't keep the ball. You can win games without doing these things but only if there is another plan and there certainly wasn't one.

Ojaama and Ainsworth didn't stand out at all and there's no way O'Brien is fit/sharp enough to start on Saturday.

Thought Neil was our best player and Lawson also had some nice touches - he could be a good player in certain teams/formations but given who is in our squad, it's hard to see him being a boost to our XI any time soon.

Only a one-off U20 game so no point going overboard, but certainly nothing encouraging.

Oh, and Ferguson did walk off with assistance rather than being stretchered away so hopefully he's not completely knackered - would be surprised if he is fit for Sat though.

Yeah, given up that place as a madhouse.

Shank land didn't stand out but Wright was very lively and set up the first goal brilliantly.

Was impressed with the Dons midfield, comfortable on the ball and always looking to pass.

Defence was ok though the full backs got caught out by some long balls and generally seemed weaker than those in the centre.

Aye, Wright seems to be highly thought of too and will maybe be the next one to break into the side.

    Cheers for the update.
