Are the gloomy still gloomy & the gloaters still gloating?

Much angst and throwing of toys from those with the half empty glass and much gloating from those desperate to wish ill on Saints when the (not all unexpected imo) player sales started. Now some water has gone under the bridge, and new faces are arriving, have those views changed? Or are the gloom merchants still gloomy and are the gloaters still convinced of our demise?

Was reading Metro and Evening Standard on the way home today and both had saints to better only Burnley and West Brom. Even i thought that was harsh but...

I'd guess that i'll be classed as a doom and gloom merchant then?

Big challenge for RoKo and if he manages to get Saints to a lower mid table position then he'll have done very well.
I'd be very satisfied with that this season

Hi all, haven't posted in a while, just been enjoying the ride, and wow what a blinder.
I think the best bit of business was someone paying 2mill for mopo and 2mill for his staff, haven't rated him since the spurs game and thought he was out of order for throwing away a good chance in the cup. I also thing Ronnie is a far superior coach and seems to have a sense of humour too!

As for player sales sad but not surprising, but I think we've replaced very well and will be stronger for it. We over charged for all of them, and I think only Luke Shaw will justify his fee.

So for me its another season, a new style of play and I'm excited.

I just hope that Katherina gets the respect that she deserves, she is and always will be Marcus' Daughter and that means we should treat her right

    Agree with all of that.

I'm happy with the new signings, and the ones that have gone would have gone eventually anyway so getting it all done

Good to see you posting again and pretty much agree with all that.

Pochettino got us playing with a lot of possession but little penetration up front. For me losing so easily and decisively to West Ham having enjoyed 70% possession, getting mugged by Villa and Spurs twice and Liverpool playing us at our own game at SMS illustrated his limitations as a coach. History may possibly judge his tenure as more harm than good.

I'm looking forward to the new season but with no great expectations. A mid table finish would be satisfactory.

Katherina Liebherr deserves our respect at the very least.

Poch got you playing some great football and rightly so you all had big hopes for the season.
Now that bubble has exploded you have a season of Hoof (that term you so love) to watch. Long has had now 4 clubs in as many years and nobody's heard of your other signings.
If Kloeman keeps you up he will have met the expectations of the b

Nice to see the jealous skates are still obvious, I guess your dream is to be able to play hoof or any type of football in league 1, I'll take Koeman and our unknowns any day over your unknowns

Mark. Sit down mate and listen. There are no such things as 'jealous skates'. Your season is over before its even started. The skates are happy because we have a great fixture to look forward to tomorrow. A sell-out crowd and a resumption of where we left off last season. AA is still unbeaten as our manager. What on earth do we have to be jealous abate? I have never gone on any fans site and taken the rip about other clubs difficulties, primarily because we've been there and gone through it. And make no mistake, this season, I predict, is going to be very difficult for you. You could never have predicted Pulis being sacked, but he would make a much better choice than the cowman.

If my team had spent 35 years of the last 40 in the shadow of our greatest rivals I would be jealous too.

.. but are you still gloating about our sales??
