    Drennan back

Drennan is back on loan from Villa. Jury out whether he'll be the fox in the box we need IMO.

Ok I know this is football related so maybe not 1st choice topic on this forum.
But of interest I'd have thought.

I haven't seen his stats, but if he is the messiah,he has a huge weight on his shoulders.
If I were Storey,I would be a bit concerned- maybe this explained his apparent "lack of confidence" demeanour for the reserves Tuesday.

i wouldn't think there will be many 15-20 goal men out there, who are frees or want to go on loan to league 2 clubs,i think with it only being a month awfs will be just hoping he could net a few and take it from there,no harm trying imo

Liked him, but I thought last time it took him a while to get into first team football. Didn't he get played out wide?

He did Jon6, I wonder if Awfs is going to go back to a flexible 433 type formation similar to the one that served us so well end of last season.

I just wrote a piece on his (possible) return yesterday about how he isn't the right player for us.

Watch him score a hat-trick against Hartlepool now...

    re: Drennan back

A brace would do for me Jim. Spent a nice afternoon in the Sun with Scully and Forever down Furze Lane on Tuesday watching a strong reserve team on paper draw with Luton 2.2. Apart from a Rusty big Nige getting 45 minutes under his belt (he took his goal well) there wasn't much to enthuse about I felt. The watching Awfs had returned from seeing Drennan play for Villa reserves at Derby the previous evening and may have been a tad disappointed when Macca and he left the ground. Taylor is injured and as Scully touched on Storey (plus Barcham and Holmes) put the effort in but didn't show much for me. Drennan therefore is worth a month down on the south coast for starters. Highlight of my afternoon was seeing Scully do his Barry Harris impression collecting a stray ball. I even caught one at the second attempt, Milkins for England came to mind If anyone fancies watching a reserve game go for it, but if you are expecting cover on a rainy day or luxurious loos don't bother

I have to say as much as I like wing backs, with the players we have I think that suits us.

It accommodates Jed, who has looked a little lost when played elsewhere. But you can't knock what he is good at, which is beating people and shooting.

Get Atangana back an I think we have enough energy for the midfield 3 to cover the ground and win the ball back.

Happy with Whatmough, Robinson and Shorey. Wynter could grow into it, and there absolutely no issues with the keeper.
