3)) How much is he currently worth? Considering the inflated market for strikers, I hate to think! If he was to go in January, I dare say we'd command an 8-figure fee, considering his importance to our promotion charge...

Our striker is currently top scorer in the division.
1) he has now scored more than the 8 million pound revelation from down the road.
2) when was the last time we had a player sitting on top of the scoring charts at any point in a season?

Oh, i see what you've done there.
Britt and Chris both have 9.
Lets not turn this into a "who's better" debate. Derby would choose Martin every day of the week, I'd expect you lot to choose Britt just the same.
but we all know Chrissy Martin is a class above him tho, dont we!Originally Posted by D_D

well seeing as we're on first terms...the difference between chris and britt is that britt is an excellent goalscorer as in chris but chris is also an outstanding team player who creates for team mates and holds the ball up too. martin is the best striker in the league imo and in today's crazy market is worth 12m.
considering promotion is worth what? 100m now days? that's an absolute bargain! I wouldn't sell him for any price that a club would be willing to pay. if he stays we'll get promoted. if he doesn't we won't. simple as that I reckon.
Have to agree with rapid although I think Martin is worth more than £12m because I think he will score goals for fun at any club unlike McCormack who hasn't really done it for fulham

Cast your minds back to when the Wardrobe first came: many on here were very critical of CM. Many thought that he was slow, poor at heading and offered little to the team. It took a while for some to appreciate his qualities but now we see that he is the fulcrum of the side. Such an intelligent footballer, CM's quality is often so subtle that some may not fully see it. The trouble with top championship strikers is that most struggle in the premiership. Players like Earnshaw, Chopra, Huckerby, Nugent, Le Fondre and Eubanks Blake were prolific in the championship but broke no pots in the higher division.
Yes there is the odd exception but you can see why clubs go for proven international strikers rather than pay 12 million for a risky unproven one.
