    re: Docker Hughes Manifesto

Docker's total of number votes cast in the 1987 general election made the difference of Mike Hancock not being duly elected. It is said MH was spitting feathers during 3 recounts. Duty frees on the Gosport ferry was one item of his manifesto. Docker had a passion that I share for horse racing and Fontwell in particular. There is a race run early each new year in his memory at Fontwell. So no surprise that another item of his manifesto was a racecourse on Southsea Common.
