    Morning 71...
Just to let you know how I got on in the Dublin marathon... Well, it didn't go to plan I'm afraid.. .Snapped my hamstring at 8 mile mark, having been going along quite nicely. It was excruciatingly painful and a real game changer for me. By 10 mile mark, I was seriously considering retiring from the event, something I have never had to do before. So I decided to continue on and adopt a run, walk, run, walk strategy for the remaining 16.2 miles. It was all I could do to attempt to keep the pain from worsening..

I eventually finished in 4:16 minutes much slower then my 3:30 training time I had ear marked. But it could have been much worse, as some poor fella collapsed 600 meters from the finish line and is now in an ICU bed in hospital..So that's the story mate...
    Cheers...

Well done on finishing and despite your injury early on in the race.
