    the truth is out there.

please bare with me on this as post being written by a ex spurley hey pupil

    summer 2014?
if we go back to the summer most posters on MM were happy with SE signings. ok there was the exception of brandy and sadler which most found strange and we all wanted tavs and dicko but for reasons it didnt happen.

JCH, Derbyshire, Bowery were all on paper great acquisitions. Add Loach wood, newton, green, taylor, smallwood, richardson becchio i can see why we were all happy...

there were a few eye brow reactions to a few signings. wordsworth Hall, broadfoot, brandy, sadler.
im guessing Evans brought these players into the team to cover for what he thought would be first team regulars.
tbh they are capable replacements/bench warmers..

why have we got this caliber of player?
the reason we have this caliber of player is simply down to wages. its rumored the cap is 5k... In the championship 5k per week gets you very little. we all would love to be able to attract better players but

How on earth do you get to the conclusion that Newton is good enough? He hasn't played.

Also I doubt your assessment of Bowery, Taylor and to a certain extent JCH who have all yet to prove anything at this level.

Derbyshire...well...he's not doing it. If he can then i'd be amazed.

Don't knock yourself Cayton. Spurley or not that is a very good post.

A lot better than some of negative tripe that's been posted on here since Saturday.

These are the players who I feel have no future at the club. Loach, Brindley, Bradley, [ never fit ] Sadler, Milson, Broadfoot, Hall, Brandy, Tidser, Tayler, Wordsworth, Becchio & Derbyshire. Newton not seen him play got to give him a chance. Midfield its Smallwood or Green & Frecklington or Newton.

Might have missed someone who is out on loan. All this about loaning them out to get fit. They're loaned out cause they aren't good enough. Squad will have to be sorted out in jan' One area think we're weak is there's no box to box man in midfield. Wouldn't bother me if Green left.

    Cayton - Good post.

Love Revs but he will be a hero forever anyway and I sort of maybe agree.

    Derbyshire - Not for me

Other stuff I agree on except I like below haven't seen enough of Newton yet to make a decision. Not sure that I would chance him either at this stage of our season. I'm not quite panicking but I am nearly panicking

Clayton Respect your opinions but I've not seen Newton or Brandy play and I guess neither have you, so how can you judge them?

Revell IS definitely good enough so is Morgan in my opinion. Scarz is just about up to Championship standard but only when he's on the top of his game.

Richardson isn't good enough, too slow, can't get forward.

Signing three inexperienced loanees looks risky to me after all we've been there before and succeeded, Tavs and Dicko and failed, that lad from Liverpool who's escapes me and John Swift. I shall reserve judgment for now but I would have loved to have seen at least one experienced forward coming in.

All above remember, just my opinion.

Think it would have been easier if you just said the players you would keep

Good post, maybe one or two that might not fit in with us but I wouldn't say not good enough for Championship

i know he hasnt played championship football. you need to get out of the millers 1st team bubble. ive seen newton play and train several times and imo has that little something that can make him good enough for the championship. that was the point of my post. sooooo thats how on earth i come to my conclusion

also derbyshire 7 season in prem league, and 5 in championship makes him not good enough? just watch his movment when he plays. what lets derbyshire down is his pace and strength though he still has enough for championship football..

    obv its all about opinions
