Thread: Team for Brighton?

    Team for Brighton?

    GRANT

CHRISTIE; KEOGH (or Buxton if needed); SHOTTON; FORSYTH

    HUGHES; MASCARELL; BRYSON

    DAWKINS; MARTIN; WARD

    Subs:
    ROOS
    BUXTON (or NAYLOR)
    EUSTACE
    HENDRICK
    IBE
    RUSSELL
    BEST

I hope Keogh's fit, but Bucko can fill in, no problem.

The Hughes or Hendrick question is a tricky one, I have a feeling Schteve might go for Hendrick.

I would always pick Grant, Keogh, Bryson, Martin and Ward, as long as they were fit. For me they are the five KEY players.

Agreed Best hasn't shown a lot (or anything really) to date.
However, the management team must watch him in training and select him for the squad based on what they see.
Once he doesn't make the squad or if Thomas is picked in front of him, that would be it in my view.
Until then, I'd love to see him get some game time, make an impression and get off the mark. We really do still need quality cover for Martin - we are, in my view, one poor tackle away from seriously risking jeopardising a promotion push.

Based on the assumption that Keogh isn't available.
I think he'll be far more important in the line up for Boro, so make sure he's fit for then.

It's far too cold for Mascarell; think of his poor hands in the cold Derby sun today.

Surely McClaren will opt for the gifted gloved guardian?

Gennady Golovkin eat your heart out.

whilst tongue in cheek I'm sure, it's a valid point. not for this game per se but we've seen a lot of Spanish/south American players fail miserably as soon as we hit the colder months.
