On Wednesday 17th December 2014 the British Army Representative team will entertain the German Bundeswehr at Vanarama Conference Aldershot Town’s ES Stadium. Kick off will be 7.30pm.

The match has been arranged to commemorate the centenary of one of the most iconic moments of the First World War when soldiers from both sides put down their weapons and crossed into “no mans land” in Ypres, Belgium to share an impromptu ceasefire.

It will also follow a week of remembrance activity that is occurring in December forming “Football Remembers Week”. This will take place between 5 and 14 December and is a joint collaboration between the FA Premier League, Football League and the British Council, the aim is to engage football fans and players at every level about what took place on Christmas Day one hundred years ago on the battlefields in Belgium.

The Army FA are extremely grateful to Chelsea FC for their co-operation
