    Your top gigs of 2014

I went to a few of the ones in the NME list, including the first two, but they wouldn't be my top gigs of the year. They would be:

Foo Fighters at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Kings of Leon at Milton Keynes Bowl
Blackberry Smoke at Shepherd's Bush Empire
Kacey Musgraves at Shepherd's Bush Empire - view external link

A quiet gig year for me. I too was at that Arcade Fire one and wasn't exactly blown away. Perhaps more to do with venue than band. As they mentioned, Earl's Court won't be missed.

Warpaint in Lisbon easily tops it. A fantastic venue and the ladies were in fine form.

I've got 4 decent ones coming up, First Aid Kit, War on Drugs, Underworld (so looking forward to this) and Warpaint again.

I'm looking forward to you taking your daughters to Ollie Murs and One Direction

It was Steps and S Club 8 for me

The first thing they do when they get in my car is slap on Heart!! I'm trying to introduce them to 'better' music but it's tough to compete with the X Factor rubbish.

If they want to go to Murs/1D that's fine, but their mother can take them!!

Cocksparrer, PAIN and Argy Bargy in Wolverhampton a fortnight was blinding, but as I played in one of the support bands I'm a bit biased.

One totally out of the blue for me was a female fronted ambient band called Lamb. I only went as the better half likes them, it's nice to compromise too (considering the amount of punk gigs she has to deal with) and I'd never seen a gig at the Roundhouse before. Not my usual cuppa T in the slightest but I was extremely impressed. I'd go & see them again.
