Thread: What has happened?

    What has happened?

We are in a very tricky situation of our own making now. 4 defeats on the spin is a tough one to halt. Tadic is poor, Mane worse and why doesn't our main striker take penalties??
Whilst Man City outplayed us, the defeats to United, Arsenal and Burnley??? were unacceptable. I know were 5th and that's a great position to be in, but the likes of Arsenal will soon leave us in 8-10 if things don't change dramatically. Some serious firepower is required in January.

How is JRod coming along? Is he weeks away from returning or months?

Not clinical enough, in front of goal.
Also think the balance of the team has been messed up, since Morgan got injured, plus Cork.

Agree the loss of Morgan has had a major impact on the balance of the team, and the loss of Cork hasn't helped. It was good to see JWP back though not match fit. Jake played with lots of passion until forced off by injury. It wasn't a poor penalty from Tadic, but a top draw save from Heaton. Again a moment of poor judgement or bad luck cost us a point. We came close a couple of times but as the expression goes it wasn't quite Carling.
No Pelle Tuesday night as booked helping Boyd of the park.
JayRod apparently back on one crutch at the moment. The return of Morgan is more important at this time.

Possibly also missing those bits of luck, most teams need.
    Burnley goal deflected past Forster.
Would like another look, or two, but the guy who put Hesketh out of the game, seemed to arrive quite late, and could have warranted a red card, even though the ref (Clattenburg - surprise, surprise) missed it all together. Surprised it wasn't reviewed on MOTD, as they reviewed damn near every other contentious tackle.

Our first choice 11 are a match for anyone and Pelle was scoring for fun. Take enough out of our starting 11 then Pele dries up and we start to struggle.

Bigger squad and some help for Pelle in January.

Is that the same Hesketh who was booked for his VERY late lunge on our keeper?? Clatters could have given him a red for that, then he wouldn't have limped off later would he? Southampton defo the dirtiest side to come to the Turf this season.p

I didn't see the incident you refer to, so cannot comment on it.
Don't confuse us with being a dirty team, based on the number of free kicks Clattenburg gives against us. He always cheats us.

    This.

The answer isn't to get a new striker, it's to sign someone who can create more from midfield to support Pelle. Mane and Long aren't the answer, unfortunately.
