    St Mirren: 24h on

I've watched the re-run of the goal half a dozen times - absolutely superb! - view external link

Brilliant goal. Lets hope it gives the players the confidence to go and express themselves. Two games against the bottom two and no defeats. A shame we conceded that last minute equaliser against ross county last week. A win against thistle next week and hopefully it will pull us closer to the teams above us and we can start to look up the way rather than down the way.

Great goal football wise.need forwards to make runs into space to allow balls to be player there, too many times yesterday defenders/midfielders had possession and no options to pass to,against better teams we would get punished by being caught in possession at the back.:/ :/

Im not so sure our lack of possession generally stems from McManus, O'Brien (and perm any two or 3 in the midfield) lumping the ball long for a lone striker to try and do something with it and 99% of the time we lose possession. Sutton will never do fpuck all when he has to rely on getting the high ball all the time with his back to goal.

I've just watched the highlights on the BBC and can't believe how biased they are. Now I know we didn't play well but the edited highlights give the impression of almost 90 minutes of St Mirren pressure.

Very few fouls shown but of course O'Brien's foul on Thomson was picked out. The Thomson red card incident was inconclusive. The Saint's goal claim was not 100% conclusive but on balance of probability the ball did not cross the line. Saints offside goal seemed to be offside and not clearly onside as the commentator claimed. They did however have a reasonable penalty claim.

In fairness - yesterday at least - McManus and O'Brien often had the ball and were looking at no movement at all. Car swell did well at trying to collect deep but then he was just five yards ahead of the defence looking at the same thing. And there then comes a point goin

Thats cos its only 5 mins of highlights and most of the decent play did come from St Mirren. We created fpuck all of note to fill a 2 mins highlight package other than the goal. We had 60% of possession and that just shows you how much we did with it that the editors found buggger all of note other than our goal, which I think is a fair reflection of o

The impression I have from the highlights and commentary is that Saints were victims of terrible refereeing and fully deserved to win. That doesn't quite tally up with reports on here and on Steelmen online.

They were on the end of some dubious calls we weren't and with 10 men they merited more than they got. We were truly awful and I think the highlights package reflects that perfectly well. But I couldnt care less how the BBC report it we got the 3 points and thats all that mattered.
