    Jose Mourhino - mind games?

Heard him say that Saints can play without pressure, today, as the "title's not theirs" (or something similar).

I also don't think the title is in our reach, so is the comment just his usual arrogance, or a well thought comment, designed to wind the Saints players up, so that they try too hard, thus not playing their normal game?

Where he is concerned it will always be arrogance, some rightly earned. A good performance from the lads will be key, somewhere along the lines of the first half against City, if we play like that through the 90 we could come away with something.

I think he is kind of right. We have had an excellent Christmas and I see todays game as a free hit. So long as Saints give a good account of themselves, and give Chelsea a run for their money I will be happy. But you never know ...
I am really looking forward to the game. Hope to see the usual suspects at the Watering Hole pre match.

There is no doubting, he is quite arrogant (although justifiably - he is the best manager in the world in my opinion...) but I do think to an extent he does say it as he sees it. We've slipped away a little, so now the "title's not [Southamptons]" which is fair, but earlier in the season when we were neck and neck with them, Mourinho in response to "when do you start to take Southampton seriously?" said "now" or something along those lines. Yes he is a character, yes he is sometimes arrogant and blames the officials or a 19th century 'park the bus' playing style for disappointing results, but at the end of the day he is a great manager and I'm happy he is managing in the Prem.

Mind games? He is just worried because the last manager to play us was sacked the next day

A well deserved point. I think Chelsea had one shot on target in the first half and scored with it right on half time. Second half was very different. Either side could have nicked it. Draw seems fair enough.
Only downside is a red card for Morgan but since its our first for over a year in the league I suppose we should keep that in perspective.

I, obviously, was not at the game but all the Sky pundits seem agreed That Chelsea should have had a penalty late on. Mourino was also quite upset about it.
What was the view of you that were at the game?
    Good result though.

I've seen it replayed several times, and don't think it was a penalty. But if I were a Chelsea supporter I'd have been screaming for it.

Targett slipped, but his foot had stopped moving, 6 or more inches in front of Fabregas.
IMO Fabregas looked for the leg, as most players in the top teams do, and wrapped his foot around it.
He may even have been on his way down, before the contact was made.

I was at the game and had a clear view of the incident. My immediate reaction was no penalty, although I think there was contact, the player went down easily. I was surprised at the yellow card which in my opinion was not merited. The incident was on the opposite side of the pitch to the Chelsea bench so I am not so sure that they had as clear a view. But of course the usual mind games come into it.

It will be interesting to see what they make of it on MOD with all the slow motion freeze frames etc. I anticipate they will make a case for Chelsea, because that is what usually happens. But they can say what they like, it wont bother me.

Saints played very well in the first half, but were under pressure pretty
