Tim Howard set to miss 4-6 weeks with torn calf muscle.


Everton goalkeeper and U.S. World Cup hero Tim Howard missed out on Evertons recent loss to Newcastle after a calf injury suffered in the Toffees' previous game. Now it appears he will miss much more time than that.

Howard will be sidelined for between four to six weeks after suffering a torn calf muscle in his left leg during Evertons Boxing Day loss to Stoke City, sources have confirmed to Goal USA.

The 35-year-old netminder has managed to avoid major injuries throughout his professional career, but he appears set for his first injury lay-off since suffering two broken bones in his back in March 2013. That injury led to the end of a streak of 210 consecutive starts by Howard for Everton.
