Didn't hear the Micky Quinn stuff, but the media have definitely been in overdrive.

I think Gerrard has been mostly great for Liverpool, occasionally for England, but never a truly world class player.

Nobody outside of Liverpool would have put him in their World Best 11 during his career.

I also admire his loyalty to his club, when better offers were undoubtedly touted his way.

I heard he was close to going to Chelsea several years back but was persuaded by some local 'people' not to go
