Storm damage to FP

What a shambles!
I hope our insurance covers the cost of the damage, because we are in trouble if we have to pay for it.![]()
Don't quite know how it is a shambles. Storms do cause damage and the West of Scotland has been hit badly by storms in recent days. January storms are a climatic norm.Originally Posted by elf
Might not be the worse thing the game being off.Gives us more time to get some of the injured players back and some of the others a rest.Might also give us a better idea of wether the club do intend bringing in any new players.Could do worse than take first team to watch Accies v Celts and show them what it is like to compete for 90 minutes in a game.

I'm afraid in our case it very much is a shambles and another sign of the sheer amateurishness of the club.
Yes storms do cause damage but how many times over the years have we had a home match called off due to some issue with either the pitch or the stadium itself. There seems to be a postponement like this at least once a season and if it's not the pitch and our inadequate protection systems which have caused us God knows how much down the years, then it's structural damage, or power cuts or fires in floodlight columns. It's a joke, our stadium is not fit for purpose and that's without taking into consideration the crumbling Main Stand and the leaking
The damage from photos is consistent with storm damage, contractors would have affixed signage not MFC
It appears a bit unfair to slag club for damage beyond its control. MFC have invested quite a significant amount of $ in developing Fir Park with support of around 4,000
The ground may not be perfect by any means but cut the club some slack please. The Phil O'Donnel stand was built with monies from the Ian St John transfer to Liverpool other clubs directos would likely not have been so benevolent. MFC tried to get a better stand than the current Cooper stand but the municipality declined the permit application. The floodlight fire/failure can hardly be blamed on the club a quick review of other clubs indicates we were not alone in this.
The pitch is a result of nature and drainage problems probably combined with under soil heating so what did we do we fixed it ( and yep even the mighty gets have had problems with their pitch too)
The lack of funds at MFC is not new let's remember th
Everthing that happens at Fir Park is the clubs fault. For god sake get a grip on yourselves. What has the weather been like for the last week? Bloody horrid, With winds gusting up to 80-90mph. ok we are disappointed the game is off but really! The game is now to be played on the 7th of March. We might even have a team by then so all things said and done could be the luck we need.![]()
A very sensible post BC_Canada, they are few and far between on here these days!
Bemoan the lack of effort of some of the senior players, yeah, complain at the direction the board has taken over the last few years, fair enough.
However to blame the club for the weather is bordering on the idiotic, seriously think about it.
Games have been getting called off since the game began and they will continue to be called off until the last ball is kicked.
Cut them a bit of slack on this occasion eh?
