If you mean the play offs , it was never really on , it was the best we could have hoped for but now we have to settle for 8th to 10th .
We are not a lower league club we are a pretty stable Championship club , who with a bit of luck could quite easily be next seasons surprise (as Burnley were last season and Bournemouth are this season)We are a long way from relegation materiel .
If to you following a club is all about winning winning winning , then Rovers and football are not the club or sport you want to be following !

Well at least we werent 2-0 up.to get caned 3-2 by Crystal Palace today.
Most unBurnley like though...Sean Dyche is doing very well with a squad that cost zero pence, and have a fair chance of stopping up... (you wont come across teams anxious to impress a new manager every week like
    Palace).

Needle's right - that is the reality of the situation. It's a bitter pill in some ways, but the fans of lots of other former-PL clubs have had to swallow it. Look at Leeds, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, etc, etc.
Obviously, that fragile stability could well disappear in the next few months if the owners decide to do a runner - unless there is a Russian billionaire with Lancashire connections waiting in the wings.

One point that might be in our favour is that Venkys would have an enormous loss of face in their native India if they pulled out at this stage.

On the other hand, their pride does come at a cost...so like you I dont know what to think.

I do think Gary Bowyer could have helped the finances a bit by cutting down on the numbers in this massive squad we have :/

Bob - let's imagine that we have been wrong about the owners and they are in it for the long term, with GB still at the helm. That might actually be a good thing for the future, but I'm not sure how many fans would be prepared to accept it. I think most are still of the mindset that we BELONG in the PL, so it if one manager can't do it quickly, we must look for another.
I am puzzled by the size of our squad too. There are very few obvious dead-weights now, but that's part of the problem, as the team doesn't clearly pick itself. We also need to take care that our

Bloody hell saxo yer turning into private Fraser from Dads Army, I know things aren't great at the mo and a lot of it could and should have been avoidable but quite a few of us on here have been through far worse times over the years with the Rovers. - view external link

May I make a suggestion saxo?
You can stay supporting rovers through thick and thin(this is clearly the latter)and enjoy the ride of a supporter of a normal non sugar daddy team or change to a Chelsea or a city supporter and change when things get tough.

We are all doomed !! Have you seen they are remaking (my favourite) Dads Army Milly?

Saxo, that's exactly where Rovers spent a majority of their 100 years prior to winning the lottery. So there's nothing wrong with the current position. This is exactly where we are as a club, and always have been. We just have a nicer ground and training facilities now. And a league title and league cup win to remember from our time in the sun. Now it's the odd push for the play offs every couple of seasons and a decent cup ru
